Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Notes with your friends. By creating an account or using Notes with your friends, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

What Notes with your friends is

Notes with your friends lets you add timestamped notes to YouTube videos and share them with friends and groups. It links to videos hosted on YouTube -- it doesn't host video content itself.

Your account

• You need to provide a working email address, and you're responsible for keeping your login details secure.
• You're responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• Notes with your friends isn't intended for children under 13.
• Display names are shown to other users and may not impersonate someone else or contain offensive content -- we may ask you to change one that violates this.

Your content

You keep ownership of the notes, tags, and discussion posts you create. By posting them, you give Notes with your friends permission to store and display that content to the people you choose to share it with (or, for discussion, to collaborators on that video), for as long as your account or that content exists. You're responsible for what you post, and you agree not to post anything illegal, harassing, or that infringes someone else's rights.

Sharing and collaboration

Notes with your friends lets you share a video (and your notes on it) with specific friends, groups, or via a public link, at a view-only or collaborate access level you choose. Anyone you share with can see what that access level permits -- it's your responsibility to choose who you share with and at what level.

Third-party content

Videos are embedded from YouTube and remain subject to YouTube's and Google's own terms. Notes with your friends isn't responsible for the content, availability, or accuracy of videos hosted on YouTube.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Notes with your friends for anything illegal, or to harass, abuse, or harm another user.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another account or to our systems.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service, or attempt to bypass its access controls.
• Use automated means to scrape or access Notes with your friends beyond normal use.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

Disclaimers

Notes with your friends is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Notes with your friends and its operators aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes to these terms

If we make a meaningful change to these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Notes with your friends after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
